Uses / Indications:

Normozin 10mg/1mg Tablet is used in the treatment of schizophrenia.

Interactions / Warnings:

Normozin 10mg/1mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.

Pregnancy interaction:

Normozin 10mg/1mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.

Side Effects:

Sedation, Confusion, Weight gain, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing), Memory impairment, Urinary retention, Dizziness, Increased prolactin level in blood, Tiredness, Tremor, Muscle rigidity, Uncoordinated body movements, Dryness in mouth, Constipation.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Normozin 10mg/1mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Normozin 10mg/1mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Chlordiazepoxide and trifluoperazine. Chlordiazepoxide works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Trifluoperazine is a typical antipsychotic. It works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that affects thoughts and mood.
