About Me
Dr. Aishah focuses on autoimmune diseases and inflammatory conditions. Her contributions to research in rheumatology have enhanced understanding and treatment options for chronic joint disorders. And she is best known for developing cognitive therapy in the 1960s. Her work was groundbreaking in that it shifted the focus from understanding unconscious conflicts to addressing the way individuals perceive and interpret their experiences. Beck's cognitive therapy was based on the idea that negative thought patterns contribute to emotional distress and behavioral problems.
